How to Get Involved
IBULANKU HEALTH CENTRE, UGANDA
Two electricians (OR AN ELECTRICIAN AND HIS APPRENTICE) Needed for a two week trip Uganda to fix and rewire the Ibulanku Health Centre near Iganga. Ibulanku Health Centre provides health care to12,000 patients a year. Their power supply is very unreliable so Vision Africa is installing a solar power system which will provide power 24/7. Before we can do that, we need to re-wire and change most of the wiring in the Health Centre and the new HIV/AIDS block needs to be wired. New main and sub switch boards need to be installed. Power supply is a UK 240V/50Hz.
This is a great opportunity to serve the Ibulanku community in a very practical way. You have to pay your own return airfare to Entebbe, Uganda and commit to raise $2000 for the required materials. All local transport and accommodation is provided at no cost. Accommodation is on site in the IHC Guest House. You will need to allow for another $300-500 for food and other costs.
It's not all work and you will get to see the Source of the Nile and a few other great places in Uganda. You can extend your trip and do a safari or a visit to one of many national parks.
